Story hour with Ms. Nelson has been off to a good start! We had some sessions which involved the hunting theme. Our little children had a great time hunting for hidden bright colored balls in the library. Our older children hunted for different areas in the library by matching up slips of paper with the area written on them such as “magazines, newspapers, non-fiction for beginners” etc. The children have also been making their own snacks at some of our sessions. To encourage the older children to think about things that they are thankful for, we made puppets out of old stuffed toys (a great re-cycle project). Then the puppets used various “voices” to tell what they were thankful for. The children made Indian Corn snacks (no corn was actually used!). The younger children had an activity planned which involved feeding THE HUNGRY CATERPILLAR! Making a “hungry caterpillar” was our craft afterwards. The younger children have also been using some of the ABC and counting puzzles that are here at the library. They sure enjoy puzzles! The wonderful Golden Book Worms also came to read to us one evening. THANK YOU RSVP volunteers! That group also reads to our children at school once a month.

And, most importantly, we are sharing some wonderful stories with the children!
